Description
MAN is a public organisation devoted to the study, protection and promotion of modern and contemporary art. The museum pursues its cultural aims through a range of activities both within its spaces and out in the surrounding area.
It opened to the public in 1999, in a 1920s building. In 2004, it gained managerial autonomy, structuring itself as an unincorporated institution and joining Amaci (the Italian Association of Contemporary Art Museums).
In 2013, MAN gained recognition as one of the region’s leading museums.
MAN's primary activity is the organisation of temporary exhibitions. A centre for research on and promotion of innovative artistic expression, it fosters a dynamic cultural perspective, developing and strengthening local identity through engagement with the international art world, thanks to collaborations with other museums.
