Description

The Ispinigoli cave, which has been open to the public since 1974, is a vast cavern with a towering limestone column measuring thirty-eight metres in height, making it the tallest in Europe.

It is part of a complex of three connected caves that extend over seventeen kilometres. The karstic system includes wide tunnels with clay deposits, impressive columns and masses of white concretions. 

It was explored by speleologists in 1954, who discovered important archaeological remains from the nuraghic, Punic and Roman periods.

The cave is of scientific interest for its fossils and unique finds.
