Su Gologone Spring
Description
Su Gologone is Sardinia’s most important spring. Recognised as a natural monument in 1998, it is the main resurgence in the vast Supramonte karstic system.
It is at the foot of Monte Uddè, just fifteen kilometres from Oliena.
Over millennia, the water carved meanders in the subsoil, then resurfaced as a small lake set between the high walls of dolomitic rock. It varies in hue from emerald green to turquoise and intense blue, depending on the reflections of the sun.
